Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) Course

This course was introduced by the University of Mumbai in the year 1999-2000. With the growing demand for professionally qualified management executives, the course has been especially designed to create middle cadre management personnel. It is a three-year full time degree course, with six semesters.

Duration Of The Course

  • BMS is 3 years full-time course. The duration of the course is of six semesters spread over three years.
  • Number of students: A batch shall consist of not more than 60 students.
  • The course shall consist of 39 modules comprising 38 theory papers and 1 project.

Eligibility: For FYBMS Admission

A candidate, being eligible for FYBMS admission shall have passed Xll th std. examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or any examination recognized as equivalent there to at one and the same sitting or Diploma in any Engineering branch conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State with two years or three years or four years duration after passing the Secondary School Certificate(S.S.C.)examination or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto and should have secured not less than 45% marks in case of students belonging to Open Category and not less than 40%marks in the case of students belonging to Reserved Category.

Application forms for admission to the First Year BMS will be available at the College Office, from the day the H.S.C. results of the Maharashtra State Board (Xll standard) are announced. They should be submitted to the College Office with documentation, within the time frame that will be announced by the University of Mumbai and displayed on our notice board, Admissions will be done on the basis of the total marks scored in all subjects taken in the Xll standard exam. There is no entrance test for this course.

Students passing the H.S.C. or any other examinations conducted by Boards/Universities outside Maharashtra State should apply to the college for a provisional eligibility certificate for which the original Mark sheet should be displayed at the College office, along with 2 photocopies. For confirmation of the eligibility, students should submit all the required documents to the College Office, before the close of the first term, the Statement of Marks, the Passing Certificate and the Migration Certificate.

At the time of admission the student must submit the following documents in original along with duly attested photocopies.

1. H.S.C. Mark Sheet
2. S.S.C. Mark Sheet
3. S.S.C.Passing Certificate
4. Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate
5. Age, Nationality, Domicile Certificate
5. Caste Certificate(if applicable)
7. Documentary Evidence regarding special category status:
(Special Category consists of:
Wards of Transferred State / Central Government and Private Sector employees, Wards of employees of Defence Dept. / Ex-service personnel, Wards of Freedom Fighters, Physically handicapped candidates, and students who have met with accidents. AWARD WINNERS at the District / State / National Level in Sports or cultural activities.)

Rules Regarding Admission

Admission to BMS will start after the declaration of the results of the respective qualifying examination.

  • Student seeking admission will have to come in person with duly filled in application form for an interview with the admission panel.
  • The application in the prescribed form must be filled in completely and signed by the student & Countersigned by his /her parent guardian.
  • No admission is valid unless and until it is granted by the Principal and full fees is received by the College.
  • All admissions are valid for one academic year only. A student who has qualified himself / herself for admission to the next higher class will have to file a fresh application in the prescribed form & pay the full fees within the period notified.
  • A student admitted to the college shall pay the full fees for two terms. Once admitted to the college, he / she will be considered duly enrolled for the whole academic year.
  • Admissions are provisional until all the necessary certificates are submitted to the college, and are approved by the University of Mumbai / Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Examination.
